LF4VET project underway: first meeting held at FH Joanneum in Austria
The Miguel Altuna team traveled to Austria to take part in the first transnational meeting of the LF4VET project (“Learning factories for the pedagogical and digital transformation of VET systems”). The main objective of this project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, is to support Vocational Education and Training (VET) centres in their digital and green transformation by promoting and enhancing the use of Learning Factories (LF).
The meeting took place at the FH JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences, located in the city of Kapfenberg. There, we had the opportunity to visit their Smart Production Lab. This Learning Factory is equipped with cutting-edge technological infrastructure and is used both for student training and for supporting companies.
The core of the project is precisely to define how to integrate these technologies (AI, robotics, digitalisation) into the VET environment in a pedagogical way, placing people at the centre. The FH Joanneum team shared their experience with us, explaining how they align active learning methodologies with industry needs.
Taking advantage of our stay in Austria, we also participated in working sessions of the Bridges 5.0 project (Horizon Europe). The Bridges 5.0 project promotes the Industry 5.0 paradigm — combining digitalisation, sustainability, and a human-centred approach — and this vision is proving essential for the development of our Learning Factories.
