Study visit to Canada: Advanced Manufacturing, innovation and collaboration 

During the first week of June, representatives from Miguel Altuna VET Institute visited Canada to explore leading practices in advanced manufacturing, applied research, and educational innovation.

The visit included Niagara College, where we learned about the work of WAMIC and the SONAMI network, both outstanding examples of collaboration between education, research, and industry.

We also visited Humber Polytechnic and Humber Research & Innovation in Toronto to discover how they support innovation and future-ready talent development.

The final stop was Camosun College in Victoria, British Columbia, an LCAMP partner, where we explored applied research projects, SME collaboration models, and a learning factory tailored to students’ needs.

The visit reinforced the importance of international collaboration in driving innovation and skills development in advanced manufacturing.
